Today, 07 February 2023, The ASEAN Secretariat Mission to Timor-Leste has conducted the training for Cluster I of the Capacity Building Program (CBP) at Maubara Conference Room of Timor Plaza Hotel.
During the opening session, H.E. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (MCAE) emphasised the importance of the training for Timor-Leste’s officials as implementing agencies to better understand ASEAN Legal Frameworks, Rules and Procedures. Furthermore, Timor-Leste has acknowledged the support of ASEAN Secretariat Mission to Timor-Leste and Asian Development Bank.
The major topics for the three-day training ( 7-9 February 2023) are Introduction on the CBP for Timor-Leste’s Accession to the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), Overview of AEC Work, Processes and Mechanisms, Overview on the Initiative for ASEAN Intergration (IAI), Overview on the Sub-regional Mechanism, and also Overview of Public-Private Sector Engagement in ASEAN.
The participants are coming from AEC line ministries namely: MCAE, MoFAC, MTCI, MAF, MEESC, MoF, MoJ, MTC, MoH, SEPFOPE, Representatives from President Office, Representatives from Prime-Minister Office, Immigration Services, TradeInvest, Custom Authority , Tax Authority, ANAAA, INDMO, TTIL, ANPM, SERVE, APORTIL, TIC Timor-Leste, Central Bank, ANLA, ANC, AACTL, IQTL, and AIFAESA.
